I have done a lot of explaining in this blog of what you should put into your online dating profile in order to have success. This article, I will be going over some things that I recommend you keep out of your online dating profile, in order to increase the chances of having success with online dating.

Keep the Negativity Out of It

You online dating profile is what sells you. You are only as good looking as what is in your dating profile. When singles are searching for someone that they may be compatible with – they don’t want to see a profile with a bunch of negative stuff on it. For instance if you just got fired from your job, or worse yet just lost your house, it is going to do you know good to bitch about it in your dating profile, if you really want to vent about such a subject, then Facebook may be the place to do that. Not a place where you are trying to make a good impression on someone that may become your possible significant other in the future.

Keep the Exes Out of It

Another big turn off for both sexes. Don’t be bitching about how horrible your ex was. You are here to start a new beginning in the dating world, any negativity that you have within your past relationships, keep it there and start fresh. There is a certain time for these subjects to arise, like maybe on the 4th or 5th date. No one cares about why your past relationship didn’t work out, trust me.

Don’t Write a Book

So how many words should be in your online dating profile, specifically the “about me” section? In my opinion no more than 400, and no less than 150. The whole idea of an online dating profile is to not give away every single aspect of your life in your profile, just the essentials. You should leave plenty of things to be discovered later when you actually get that first date. If you are going for the long about me description, you better know how to write it to where it can catch a users attention, and also keep their attention to the end of your ramble.

For those that aren’t the best writers, you may want to stick to about 150 words. If you have trouble writing you online dating profile, there are plenty of services that are out there that can help you create a successful online dating profile. If you are on a budget, there is a website called Fiverr that has online matchmaking specialist that can make you a good dating profile for around 5 bucks and up.
