Yes. And there are no intentions to change this. Ever. LovesOasis.com does display 3rd party advertisements throughout the site. Dating sites are not cheap to run.
Do I have to upload an avatar upon joining the site?
Yes you do. This is an anti-spam measure, without an avatar, your profile will most likely be disapproved.
I just signed up for the site, why can’t I upload a profile photo? And why are some features not working?
This may be because your site has not been approved by admin yet. Profile approval should take less than 24 hours. If your profile has not been approved within this time then please contact us. You also must confirm your email address before all the features will be unlocked. If you have not received a confirmation email, please contact us or check you junk folder in your email provider.
Why was my profile rejected/deleted?
Any profile that does not upload a real avatar photo of themselves will be rejected or deleted. If you signed up for an account and did not upload an avatar photo, this is more than likely the reason your profile was rejected. If you are having trouble uploading a profile avatar, please feel free to contact us and we will help you through the process.
What’s the difference between avatars and profile photos?
Avatars are what will be visible when a member is searching other members. More like a profile picture…or thumbnail of what you look like. Profile photos are visible on your profile itself.
Why was my account banned?
Things that can get you banned or flagged are spamming with outbound links, spamming other members, posting your personal email address.
Why wasn’t my Blog approved?
You have to have your blog approved by admin before it’s visible to everyone. If you look like you are self-promoting your own website or someone else’s, then it will be disapproved.
How do I chat with someone?
There are several ways to chat with another member, the Chat room, simple messenger, and video messenger. To simple message someone, you can hold your mouse over the member picture from the home page (allow a few seconds) and it will give you several options for that members, including chat. You can also visit the members profile and look under actions where you will see a chat option and video chat option. Note: The member MUST be online to see chat options.
How do I use my webcam in Chat/IM?
In order to user your webcam in the Chat room, click the Broadcast Video button at the bottom right of the chat window. You cannot use your webcam in simple messenger, you will need to click the Switch to video messenger in order to broadcast your webcam.
