Since online dating began over a year ago, the user base of those trying to find love online has grown dramatically. With the increasing number of internet users and dating sites that are emerging out of nowhere, getting to know someone before actually meeting them in person is becoming more common.

So with that being said, some guys are too picky about the women they want to meet. Just because there are literally millions of singles online, doesn’t mean that it is going to increase your chances of finding your dream girl.

With that being said being picky about the women you date can absolutely narrow your odds of finding success in the online dating world. Because many online dating sites have advanced filters to filter out who you may want to meet, some people may tend to get carried away when narrowing down your search.

So if you are just looking for someone that lives within ten miles of you, between the age of 28-32, has no kids, does not like pets, listens to country music, makes $40k year, and likes to watch football, you may not be getting that many results, if at all any.

In my experience this is being way to picky when looking for women. One thing that you can do to increase your odds of finding someone you really like, would be to pick out 3 things that you absolutely want your partner to have, and the rest you can be a little less picky about, as you may be surprised when you actually meet up with them in person.

For instance, if you are someone that only wants to date nonsmokers, you are pretty much cutting out half of the online dating users, but if that is something that is that important to you, then this is a choice that may have to be made in order to find your perfect match in life.

Instead of only looking for someone within a 10-20 mile radius, why don’t you expand that to a couple hundred miles or so. Sure you may have to drive a couple of hours to meet up with the person, but in order to find someone that you perfectly compatible with, you may have to make that sacrifice.

Though again that is a choice that you are going to have to make. One of my friends was on an online dating site for years and had no success. He broadened his search throughout the entire United States, and sure enough met up with the woman and after a couple of flights later, they were so compatible that they winded up moving in together and getting married a year later.
