But these days there are literally thousands of online dating sites that are out there, and many of them are niche type specific. So if you are someone that wants to find a certain type of someone, you may want to add that ‘niche’ word in your search.

For example if you are someone that is in the military, you may want to use a search engine and put in the query “dating for military singles”, or something similar to that, and you will be surprised at all of the results you are going to get.

One would have never thought that there would be so many dating sites out there that are specifically geared towards those dating in the military. Here are a couple of other niche specific dating sites that I will quickly review to give you some insight on what is really out there.

Christian dating sites are on the rise and have some pretty big communities. Sites such as Christianmingle.com and christiandatingforfree.com both have over a million members (so they claim, whether all these members are real or not has yet to be proven).

Another hot niche type dating site is those for single parents. Some people are scared away from people that have children, and with this type of site dedicated to those that are single and with kids, they will automatically weed out all of the people that don’t want to date anyone that has kids.

Adult dating sites are everywhere. They make claims that you can get laid tonight and that some of them may have more women than men and need more men to fill out their database. There are so many of these sites emerging it’s hard to tell which ones are legit and which ones are just filled to the top with fake members who will never respond to your emails.

If you decide to go on one of these types of adult dating sites, make sure to do your homework and read reviews from multiple (not just one!) sources to verify any patterns of complaints matching up. If not you may be forking over your credit card to exchange emails with staff members who have posted up fake profiles.

Same thing goes for these Cheater websites that want you to have an affair, or cheat on your spouse. Most of these are paid sites and there is no telling what percentage of the users are real or not, or even active if that.

Bottom line is do your homework before forking over your credit card for $25 a month or more. If you are a member of a free online dating site, you may also be dealing with more spam from fake members than the paid ones.
